Police have charged 36 year-old Stuart Kurschner with multiple counts of theft for taking brand new computers from Luther Hospital and selling them over the internet. The Criminal complaint estimates the computers to be worth almost $200,000.
Kurschner was released on a $50,000 signature bond. The district attorney's office say they don't consider him a flight risk.
Luther Hospital officials released a statement today saying that the protection of confidential patient information is of the utmost concern to the hospital, and reassured patients that they do not store patient specific information on the individual PC's but rather on much more protected hospital servers.
