An area hospital is encouraging its employees to help their community outside the exam room.
On Wednesday, Luther Midelfort hosted its first annual volunteer fair in the hospital's cafeteria.
Representatives from 25 different agencies were on hand to present volunteer opportunities within their organization.
Some, like Luther Midelfort employee Shirley Anderson, enjoyed the chance to talk about an organization they volunteer for.
"Anytime our friends and co-workers can be exposed to the number of volunteer opportunities in the community and the needs that are out there, that makes a difference," says Anderson. She's on the board for the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic.
Organizers are hoping to make the fair an annual event.
