Firefighters from Minnesota, Indiana and all over Wisconsin came to Black River Falls this weekend to train. Black River Falls Fire Department hosted a three day class on rescuing people that fall through thin ice. Eighteen firefighters are involved in the class, which includes both classroom and real life training. Today was the second day of the class where firefighters were given scenarios on a pond rescuing mock victims wearing insulated, waterproof suits to protect them from the cold. Firefighters who participated will go back to their departments and teach their colleagues about what they learned.
