Social Security Numbers Mailed Out...Again.

Social Security numbers for Wisconsin taxpayers were accidentally mailed out...again.

The Department of Revenue says Social Security numbers were printed on about 200,000 informational brochures sent by a vendor hired by the state for recipients of Seniorcare and other programs.

In December of 2006, the DOR mailed out 171,000 tax booklets with the number printed on the label.

The department says the state will offer free credit counseling to those affected and a hotline will be established.
