Wausau Coach Enters Plea In Sex Accusation

A Wausau high school girls basketball coach pleaded innocent Monday to charges that he had sex with a 15-year-old player.

Forty-year-old Mitchell King faces ten charges, including sexual assault of a child.

King's attorney, Gerald Boyle, entered innocent pleas to all charges during a short hearing in Marathon County Circuit Court.

Judge Dorothy Bain set trial for August 15th.

King has been suspended from teaching social studies at Wausau West and from his coaching duties.

A criminal complaint says the girl told investigators that King, who was also her golf coach, started romantically pursuing her in January 2004 and later told her he loved her more than his wife.
