Weible Preliminary Hearing

An Altoona teen will stand trial for attempted first degree intentional homicide and attempted battery of a police officer.

In Eau Claire County court Tuesday, Altoona police officer Jeffrey Anger testified that after 17-year-old Mark Weible's mother called him to their home on Jan. 14, he spoke with the teen initially without incident.

But as Anger was preparing to leave, he says Weible held an object to his throat.
When Anger pushed Weible away and used pepper spray, Weible stabbed at him with and 8 1/2 inch hunting knife and would have stabbed him in the chest if he hadn't worn his ballistics vest.

When Anger sprayed him a second time, Weible threw the knife at him. Weible remains in custody on bond. No trial date has been set.
