Members of the Wisconsin Air National Guard's Madison-based 115th Fighter Wing are heading to Iraq.
Lieutenant Colonel Brian Gray says about 300 airmen and women are being deployed this weekend to support Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The troops will leave Sunday night and most will serve as part of a two-month rotation. They'll join about 40 other members from the 115th already serving in Iraq.
This is the fifth time troops from the 115th have been deployed to the region since the end of the Gulf War in 1991.
