(WEAU) - We have new information on the man involved in a nearly 6 hour standoff with police Tuesday night.

Trevor Mancl, 22, is now charged with failure to comply with an officer, obstructing and disorderly conduct with use of a dangerous weapon. Investigators say his girlfriend told them he was suicidal.

Officers say he sent threatening text messages to his girlfriend, saying if officers come in, it's going to get ugly. Officers say he also talked of shooting at the SWAT team so they would kill him. Officers found several loaded guns and ammunition inside.

NEWS RELEASE-On February 7, 2012 at approximately 4:30 P.M. Altoona Police were dispatched to check the welfare of an adult male living near 3rd St E and Hayden Ave in the City of Altoona.

The subject was uncooperative with responding officers and it was learned that the subject was claiming to be armed with a firearm and threatened to shoot the responding law enforcement personnel. Officers created a perimeter and began attempts to resolve the situation.

Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to assist Altoona Police and the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded. The subject surrendered to Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department SWAT personnel after several hours and was taken in to custody. Numerous firearms were recovered from the residence.

No one was injured as the result of this incident.

The male was later transported to the Eau Claire County Jail and reports will be referred to the Eau Claire County District Attorney’s office for criminal charges.

(WEAU) - Altoona police say a standoff Tuesday night came to a peaceful end.

The man involved, whose name has not been released, is expected in court sometime Wednesday.

This happened at a home near the intersection of 3rd Street east of Hayden Avenue.

Altoona Police Chief James Small says officer responded to a call to check on a man around 4:30 p.m. He says when officers arrived, the man was not being cooperative.

Small says they called in the Eau Claire SWAT team. Our photographer at the scene saw the SWAT team yell into the house, asking the man to come out with his hands up.

Investigators say the man inside threatened police officers saying he'd shoot anyone responding to the scene.

At that point, police built out a perimeter around the home in question to keep the public away from danger.

Around 10:10 p.m., the man exited the house with his hands up and surrendered to the police.

Police say numerous firearms were recovered from the home.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The man was sent to the Eau Claire County Jail.

His case has been turned over the the District Attorney's office.

A photographer on the scene says a person came out with their hands up and was taken into custody around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday night.

(WEAU) - We have breaking news out of Altoona, where a standoff is in progress.

Our crew on the scene says the Eau Claire County SWAT team's BearCat has its spotlight on the front door of a house Tuesday night.

It's happening at a home near the intersection of 3rd Street East and Hayden Avenue in Altoona. Our photographer who's on the scene says officers were yelling at someone to come out of the home, but so far no one has come out. The Altoona Police chief told us a little before 10 p.m., he can't release any information except that they are on the scene. The chief says right now the public is safe.
