A semi is in pieces after a train hit it in Winona County, Minnesota on Friday morning.

James Shank, 39, told police he got lost and tried to find his way back to Highway 61 when his semi was hit by a Canadian Pacific train in Goodview, Minnesota.

Goodview Police Chief Lavern Hauschildt says the crash happened at the 69th Street railroad crossing. He says Shank didn't see or hear the train. Shank wasn't hurt.

Hauschildt says the city is working with the railroad to make sure the 69th Street crossing is safe.

"We do a considerable amount of enforcing stop sign violations at that crossing and we just found out this morning that it can be extremely dangerous," says Hauschildt.

Shank was ticketed for running the stop sign at the crossing.
