The East Side Hill Neighborhood in Eau Claire will get a new pedestrian bridge over the Eau Claire River.
The City Council this afternoon approved a resolution to replace the current bridge to Banbury Place.
The City Council voted nine to one to build a new H Truss pedestrian bridge in order to replace the current aging one near Boyd Park.
The city has just under a million dollars budgeted for the project, much of it in state transportation funds.
A company based out of Sauk County was awarded the contract for the work, and the new bridge is expected to be completed by the end of October.
