Hudson Murder Investigation

By  |

Investigators in Hudson may be close to solving a two and a half year old double murder.

Dan O'Connell was a funeral home director in Hudson. He and his intern, James Ellison, were found shot to death at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in February of 2002.

The most recent twist came just three months ago, when a catholic priest questioned about the shooting committed suicide. Father Ryan Erickson met with investigators before his death, but denied any connection to the killing.

Police Chief Richard Trende won't say what new evidence may have been found in the case, but he did say recent information has been "very beneficial."

Trende hopes to give the case to prosecutors within two weeks.
