After sitting empty for more than a year, the old Victory Memorial Hospital building in Stanley will soon have a major makeover and a new function.
Jill Tallman, a registered nurse, and others have partnered together to turn the old hospital into an assisted living center, to be called the "Homeplace" of Stanley.
The building will be mainly senior health care apartments to help older adults with their day to day living.
"It will allow elderly people who need help to remain in their community that just seems to be such a huge thing for people who've been life time residents of a small town."
Tallman, who already operates an assisted living center in Mondovi expects the Stanley one to be ready by this fall.
