Four cats shot dead in Sheboygan area

Some hunters could be jumping the gun on a proposal to allow the hunting of feral cats in Wisconsin.

Early last week, authorities in the Sheboygan area found the bodies of four cats near a cemetary. All had been shot.

Sheboygan Sheriff's Sergeant Doug Tuttle says the animals were likely killed by a .22-caliber gun.

Concerned residents contacted police when they found their pets had been killed.

Liz Obear, whose cat was killed, says she believes someone shot the cats because they roamed onto their property.

Police are still looking for anyone involved in the crime.
