Employment Expo Draws Hundreds

Hundreds of job seekers from around the Chippewa Valley may have put themselves a step closer to being hired after visiting today's Employment Expo.

A few dozen employers set up shop at the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center today.

Sue Hennig of the Wisconsin Job Service said the event typically draws 1,500 to 2,000 people looking to get area employers familiar with their names and abiilties.

"Employers support our services to help them find qualified applicants and job seekers come to us because they're looking for jobs, so it's a good opportunitye to match them up here."

If you didn't make it to the expo, there are still plenty of ways to get help in finding work. Officials from the Wisconsin Job Service recommend visiting your local job center, or loging on to job-net on the web.
