The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an air quality alert for some counties in our area.
They include Eau Claire, Chippewa, Dunn, Barron, Buffalo, Jackson, Monroe, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Trempealeau and Vernon counties.
The alert was issued Sunday morning and remains in effect until noon Monday.
It was issued because of persistent elevated levels of fine particles in the air.
The DNR says the conditions are considered unhealthy for people with heart or lung disease, asthma, older adults and children.
