The Chippewa Valley Regional Airport is about to have it's first traffic control tower, it will be finished in June and fully operational by December.
The new 3.5 million dollar tower is just the beginning of the changes at the airport officials say they also plan to expand.
The expansion will include baggage claim belts, larger boarding areas, and up to three jetways for passengers to board planes indoors.
Officials say the changes are good because the airport's role is changing due to population growth in western Wisconsin.
Officials say the airport will have 35 million dollars worth of improvements over the next six years
