Man Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Sexual Assault

RACINE, Wis. (AP) -- A Caledonia man is sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 1st grade boy in a school bathroom.

Joshua Dyess was also sentenced in Racine County Circuit Court to 15 years of extended supervision.

A statement from the 6-year-old victim was read in court Monday. The boy says he's scared when he thinks about what happened and hopes it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Dyess assaulted the child at Red Apple Elementary School last February when the boy left his classroom to use the bathroom.

Dyess earlier pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement and not guilty by reason of mental disease.

The insanity plea was later withdrawn after Dyess' attorney was unable to find a psychiatrist to support the plea.
