Three weeks ago workers at Johnson Truck Bodies in Rice Lake went on strike claiming unfair labor practices.
The company has been without 250 workers, but today was able to demonstrate that limited production could still continue with management workers filling in.
The company rolled 13 out trucks for delivery this morning.
The company acknowledges the trucks were originally started by the workers who are now on strike, but remaining members of management finished the trucks.
Those involved in finishing the trucks were celebrating their accomplishment, but understand a labor deal with the striking workers is still far from done.
"We haven't lost any orders yet, our customers are standing behind us and we would really like to see the employees come back to work," says Johnson GM/VP Ron Ricci.
There have been no negotiations since the strike began.. and Johnson Truck Bodies may soon hire temporary replacements if an agreement is not reached soon because no new production is scheduled.
Union negotiator Dave Reardon says the strikers remain united but both he and company officials say they're waiting for the other side to propose new negotiations.
