Slick Roads Cause Crashes Across the Chippewa Valley

A vehicle crashes into a stop light pole today in Eau Claire, tipping it over.

It happened around noon on Clairemont Avenue, near the intersection of Craig Road.

Eau Claire Police say the driver of the SUV slid into the lights on the slick roads.

No one was injured in the crash.

    I agree with Paula. Most drivers of SUVS think that they have more control. They tailgate and drive extremely too fast regardless of road conditions.

    I drive an SUV? I take offense to your comments. I see quite a few mini-vans, cars and trucks in accidents as well. Everyone needs to respect what ever type of automobile they are driving and also watch out for the people around you that drive carelessly!

    This is a message for you SUV drivers. The SUV that you are driving is giving you a false confidence. You still need to drive as cautiously as someone driving a compact car.

    Anyone else notice that all these accidents in Eau Claire lately seem to involve SUVS? When will these drivers begin to realize that they cannot go as fast as they think they can?
