Firefighters battle the cold weather conditions to fight the flames of a house fire in Chippewa County.
It happened Monday afternoon west of Tilden. Chippewa Fire District Chief John Neihart says when his crews arrived; the home was fully engulfed in flames. He says everyone got out safely, but firefighters had to retreat when the fire made its way to the roof and the basement, creating a dangerous situation.
Neihart says fighting fires in the extreme cold is difficult, and frostbite is always a concern. There's no word on how the fire started.
