The maker of "Icy Hot", a topical pain relief medicine, has issued a voluntary recall of two of its products.

Chattem Incorporated has received reports that its "Icy Hot Heat Therapy" products caused first, second and third degree burns.

Consumers who have the products or any samples should immediately stop using them and discard or return the products to the manufacturer.

The products include: "Icy Hot Therapy Air Activated Heat - back," "Icy Hot Heat Therapy Air Activated Heat - arm, neck and leg."

The samples were included on a limited promotion basis of three ounces of Aspercreme pain relieving creme and clearly labeled as "Icy Hot Heat Therapy Air Activated Heat," with their own internal labeling.

Product may be returned for a full refund (average retail price) By contacting Chattem's consumer affairs dept. At 1-888-458-3487 (M-F from 8am to 4pm est) or on the company's website at www.chattem.com.
