Amery's superintendent says the high school's hockey team has to forfeit its playoff win Tuesday, and end its season.

Steve Schiell says the team played an ineligible player during the game against Baldwin.

Amery won that game 7-5.

Schiell says Amery reported the violation to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletics Association.

The WIAA then forced the team to forfeit.

Amery appealed, and that appeal was rejected.

Schiell wouldn't release the student's name or why he was ineligible.

Schiell says he doesn't believe the student was ineligible for any other games.
