Onalaska Police Officer Gathers Supplies For Iraqi Police

An Onalaska police officer has collected everything from police uniforms to bullet proof vests to send to Iraqi police.

Officer Shawn Young asked law enforcement agencies around the state to donate equipment.

Over the last two months, he's collected more than 250-pounds of equipment worth more than ten thousand dollars.

Besides the uniforms and vests, he's also collected pepper spray and batons.

The Tomah and Middleton police departments also helped out.

Onalaska Police Chief Randy Williams says more efficient training may result in a quicker mission for U-S troops.
