UNDATED (AP) -- Sunday's storm has left some 2,000 people in south-central Wisconsin without power.
Alliant Energy spokesman Steve Schultz says about 3,500 people were affected at some point, but crews have restored power to about half of them.
The storm has dumped freezing rain and snow across the southern two-thirds of the state.
It left roads slippery and treacherous. State emergency-management officials reported "numerous" crashes and are urging residents to stay off the roads.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning through midnight tonight. It covers more than a dozen counties, including Brown, La Crosse, Marathon, Richland and Vernon counties.
Forecasts also call for up to nine inches of snow in the La Crosse area with winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour.
