MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee County medical examiner's office says a one-month old boy who died last month in Milwaukee had the flu.
It's the city's first pediatric flu death since it began tracking them during the 2004-2005 flu season.
The infant was not vaccinated because he was too young.
Federal officials say 10 pediatric influenza deaths had been reported to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That does not include the Milwaukee boy.
Joe Bresee, chief of epidemiology and prevention with the CDC, anticipates more deaths as the season progresses.
In Wisconsin, flu season typically starts in late November or early December, peaks in January or early February, and ends in March.
Tom Haupt, with the state Division of Public Health, says more than 50 percent of the regions in a state have reported the infection.
