MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A three-disc benefit CD full of tunes from rockers, country singers and other musicians will benefit victims of the Interstate 35W bridge collapse.
The "Musicians for Minneapolis" collection will hit stores statewide this month. It features rare or unreleased tracks from artists including Los Lobos, the Stray Cats, Rocky Lynne, Steve Vai, Les Claypool, and Lee Scratch Perry.
Many perform regularly in the state -- Los Lobos keyboardist Steve Berlin says the band, quote, "considers the Twin Cities one of our absolute favorite places."
The collection is already available at Twin Cities independent record stores Cheapo and the Electric Fetus. Best Buy Stores statewide and metro-area Targets should have copies later this week.
