Gasoline prices are at record highs, but that's not going to stop another record from being broken this Memorial Day weekend by drivers.

AAA estimates more than 31 million people will travel by car for the long weekend, up about two percent from last year.

While airfare is cheaper than last year, gas prices won't put much of a dent in travel budgets. "The average tank of gas actually went down this month and they expect $4-8 per trip is all it's going to affect people," says Nancy Martens, a representative of AAA in Eau Claire.

A recent survey found that only a shortage of gas would alter travel plans and weather plays more of a role in influencing plans than gas prices.
