Wisconsin's voter turnout for last year's presidential election was among the highest in the nation.

The U-S Census Bureau says Minnesota had the nation's highest voter turnout and Wisconsin came in second.

In Minnesota, 79% of eligible voters went to the polls in 2004. That's up from 2000, when 70% of Minnesotans ages 18 and older voted.

Wisconsin had 77 percent.

Nationally, voter turnout was 64% up from 60% in 2000.

Minnesota hasn't led the nation in voter turnout since 1984.
