There were plenty of excited people at watch parties across the area Tuesday night.
Supporters of Sen. Barack Obama met at Dooley's in Eau Claire.
Obama fans say even they were a little surprised by how little time it took for the Senator to be projected the winner in Wisconsin. They say it was a great night for Senator Obama and now that this election is over, they'll focus on getting ready for the future.
"I think it shows he spoke to all these groups and people and they really liked what he had to say. They got to see him in person and see that he's in tune with Wisconsin voters," said Collin Hawkins with the UW-Eau Claire Chapter of Students for Barack Obama.
"We have a lot of new energized voters and we're all Democrats and we're all thrilled we have a winner in our state," said Eau Claire County Democratic Party Chair Katy Phillips.
More democrats cheered on Sen. Hillary Clinton from Porter's Restaurant in the Ramada Hotel.
There were a few boos when Obama was projected the winner. But, the head of Clinton's campaign in Eau Claire County says they knew it was going to be a close race so they'll take any delegates they can get.
Obama was projected the winner less than a half hour after the polls closed.
