The Taylor County Sheriff says a judge will have a formal swearing-in ceremony for the first time in the history of the county Thursday afternoon.

Bruce Daniels says Ann Knox-Bauer will be sworn-in Thursday at the courthouse in Medford at 2 p.m.

Knox-Bauer received her Bachelor’s degree from UW-Eau Claire.

The governor appointed her to succeed Judge Gary Carlson.

He was Taylor County's only judge for 28 years before he resigned.
