One person is taken to the hospital after a crash in Eau Claire causes a car to start on fire.

The crash happened about 6:30 Thursday night on Birch Street on Eau Claire's north side. Witnesses say a car and truck collided, with the car bursting into flames.

Mike Hannafin who's in the fire extinguisher business was passing by and saw the fire. He had several extinguishers in his truck and put the fire out.

Mike Hannafin who put out the fire says, "Well it did take a good size fire extinguisher to put it out. It wouldn't have been just a little one, it was something industrial you would need. I was lucky to be here, I guess, to have the right extinguisher."

Eau Claire police are still trying to figure out how the crash happened.
