A Sheriff's Department squad car hits a snowmobiler in Sawyer County Friday night.
It happened last night near the LCO Reservation on County Highway K.
The Department says 2 deputies were responding with lights and sirens to a domestic disturbance at the reservation.
As the squad cars got close to Highway E, the Chief Deputy says a snowmobile, driven by 50-year-old Thomas Biehl of Mound, MN, came off the trail and into the path of the lead car.
He says Deputy Brigette Kornbroke tried to avoid the crash, but did hit Biehl, throwing him from the sled.
Deputies say Biehl had a broken leg and was airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital
Deputy Kornbroke was treated for a wrist injury. The State Patrol is handling the investigation.
