Wausau Man Found Guilty In String Of Garage Fires

A man accused of setting a string of garage fires in the Wausau area is convicted of 26 charges Wednesday.

Jurors found Kevin Zarm guilty of six counts of arson, as well other charges.

They returned not guilty verdicts on eight charges, including some of the fires.

Zarm was charged with nine counts of arson plus 25 other charges of burglary, first-degree reckless endangerment and theft in more than 20 suspicious fires set in Wausau and nearby communities two years ago.

About 100 witnesses testified in the three-week trial, though Zarm did not.

Prosecutors say Zarm faces more than 200 years in prison. No sentencing date was set.
