EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (FROM CITY OF EAU CLAIRE WEBSITE)-- The City of Eau Claire was notified at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Friday (12/13/2013) of a possible water main break on the 2500 block of London Road. Upon inspection of the water main by City employees it was concluded that the 6 inch - 1971 - cast iron pipe was broke, and in need of repair.
There will be approximately 16 customers out of water while the repair is completed, and Utility employees are going door to door to notify our customers of the situation.
Due to the location of the water main repair, we do anticipate having to deviate traffic to the east side of London Road between Clairemont Avenue and Henry Avenue.
The repair is expected to be complete by 7 p.m. this evening. The street will remain in a graveled patch until Monday, December 16, when the Street Division will patch the street with a cold mix patch.
