Chai Vang says he asked for a lawyer before the questioning and was denied. Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager says he was read his miranda rights twice, he turned in a written request to talk to investigators, and said he didn't want an attorney. He later signed the confession.

Vang also wants the trial moved out of hayward and his jury sequestered. A Sawyer County Circuit Judge will hear arguments starting Wednesday.
