Are you a hearty, law-abiding and physically fit nature lover?
Then the state Department of Natural Resources may have a job for you.
Warden Training Director Darrel Waldera says there are 28 warden openings -- double the usual number.
That's posing challenges for the remaining wardens -- there are only 206 full-time warden positions in the state. Northern Region warden Supervisor Mike Bartz in Spooner says there's only one warden for every 14-thousand licensed hunters and fishers.
The openings are blamed on a large number of retirements, as well as budget cuts that have limited hires in the last few years.
