State wildlife officials say they'll give sportsmen three options for new end-of-the-year hunts in chronic wasting disease zones.
The Natural Resources Board wants public comment on whether to run hunts from Dec. 11 to 14, Dec. 15 to Jan. 4 or Dec. 24 to Jan. 4.
The first hunt would be earn-a-buck, which requires hunters to shoot a doe before taking a buck. The other two hunts would be earn-a-buck until population goals for the zones are reached. Then those hunts would change over to either sex.
The board plans to hold a series of public hearings on the options next month.
