Farmer dies after getting trapped in skidsteer

(WEAU) – A man has died in Vernon County after getting trapped in a piece of farming equipment.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department says it was called to the Town of Christiana, just west of the City of Westby, around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday night. It says a woman called to say her husband was missing, then called back saying she found Brian Nelson, 57, trapped between the hydraulic arm and the frame of a skidsteer.

Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
