Heavy snow is believed to be the cause of a roof collapse at a central Wisconsin food company.

Authorities say no one was hurt when a portion of the roof gave way at a warehouse connecting McCain Foods with AmeriCold Corporation in the Village of Plover Thursday. Employees were evacuated.

McCain Foods produces potato products which are transferred to AmeriCold where they are frozen for shipment.

Plover Fire Chief Tim Kluck says four to five feet of snow was piled up on the roof. Kluck says wood and steel beams collapsed under the weight of the snow.

Structural engineers are inspecting the roof.
