Arcadia, Wis. (WEAU) - The Trempealeau County Emergency Manager says crews cleaned up a spill after a tanker truck rolled in Arcadia.
Dan Schreiner says a truck carrying liquid fertilizer rolled at the intersection of Highways 93 and 95 Friday.
He says the DNR has been notified and the spill was immediately contained with sand. He says crews pumped the rest of the chemical out of the truck.
The Arcadia Fire Chief says the truck driver was not hurt. He says he was taking a right onto Highway 95 and rolled his tanker truck when he lost control for some reason. The state patrol is inspecting the truck to see if it's a mechanical failure.
Traffic was being detoured around the site for hours. Police say when the truck was rolling, it clipped an SUV, sending two people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the Arcadia mayor is interested in talking with the Department of Transportation to see if anything can be done about the intersection, which has had 3 crashes recently, including a deadly semi crash.
