CRI to Expand

A business that employs people with developmental disabilities will soon have a new facility, thanks to a grant from the state's Department of Commerce.

More than 100 people are employed by the Chippewa River Industries and they joined community leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony Friday morning.

The new facility will be in the Lake Wissota Business Park and will be twice the size of the former building.

"We'll be able to service more client workers in the future and looking forward to employing more people with disabilities and other barriers to employment in the area," Dave Lemanski, CRI's director.

Employees perform quality control and assembly for various products. The building is expected to be completed this fall.
