After hearing from a tearful Brett Favre Thursday, Packer fans in Western Wisconsin say they're gearing up to start a new season without him.
But they say they're still a little crushed the legend is hanging up his jersey.
Former Packer's Quarterback Brett Favre has said it himself -- he's retired from the NFL.
In Thursday’s press conference, Favre said he's tired and he doesn't think he can play to his full potential any more.
His fans agree.
"I think he's worn out. I think he's very honest that he can't play at 100-percent any more. And as long as I've watched him, he's always given 100-percent,” said Chuck Hobbs.
"It's hard, I wish he wouldn't have, but it's his wish,” said fan Rick Brantner.
A tearful Favre told Wisconsinites and the entire country that it's been a long road for him, and his family, to make this decision.
"It's gotta be a hard decision for him. You would think it's tearing him up,” said Dan Zurek.
But through his tears, Favre was still making his fans laugh -- something they say they'll miss. But they'll miss watching him play even more.
"He gave me a lot of exciting Sundays and play off games and it's been a great walk with him,” said Zurek.
Favre's fans say they respect his decision and there's one thing they all agree on: they'll never stop watching the green and gold.
"I'm gonna watch the Pack, it's the Pack!” said Zurek.
"I'll keep on watching. I've watched Bart Star. I've watched Don Majkowski. Randy Wright.... I watch 'em all, they're the Packers,” said Hobbs.
The fans say their memories of legendary Brett Favre will never fade. And they're already looking forward to watching a new quarterback, next season.
