An investigation into a deadly officer-involved shooting last month shows two St. Croix County deputies were justified in their actions.

The shooting review board completed its review of the deadly shooting in Hammond.

St. Croix County Sheriff Dennis Hillstead says two deputies fired shots killing 22-year-old Jacob Lee Sperl. Investigators say he was threatening to commit suicide and was armed with a shotgun, and pointed it at the officers.

Hillstead says the review board determined the shooting was justified and the deputies followed all polices and procedures. The D.A. will also review the report. The deputies will be back on the job March 12th. The sheriff says they are getting counseling and his department met with Sperl's family Tuesday night.
