A Vietnam veteran who served for two decades in the state Senate has been named to the Board of Veterans Affairs.
Governor Jim Doyle picked former Senator Rodney Moen of Whitehall for a six-year term on the board.
Moen is a veteran of 22 years in the Navy, including the year he spent in Vietnam.
The board oversees the state Department of Veterans Affairs and sets policy on veterans' issues in Wisconsin.
The appointment of the 67-year-old Moen is subject to confirmation by the state Senate.
