State Patrol Plans to be Out in Full Force

Leaders of Wisconsin's State Patrol are not taking a AAA prediction about holiday traffic with a grain of salt.

According to the American Automobile Association, the holiday weekend will be the busiest ever in terms of travel.

So for drivers about to hit the road to a holiday getaway might want to take it easy on the gas pedal. Every State Patrol trooper who's available will be out on the highways looking for speeders.

"The faster a person goes, it certainly adds to that element of danger," said Sgt. Brian Erickson of the Wisconsin State Patrol.

"We want to remind people to think about that, slow down, and drive safely."

Troopers suggest planning extra time to get where you're going, buckle up while you're in transit, and don't drive if you've been drinking.
