Eau Claire County; State Grow Over Past Five Years

Wisconsin's estimated population in 2005 stands at 5.6 million, or some 216,000 more residents than in 2000. The State Department of Administration is required by law to release estimates for purposes of taxation, state aid and the like.

Eau Claire County grew by 4.3% for an estimated 2005 total of 97,142. The City of Eau Claire gained about 2,800 residents between 2000 and 2005 for an estimated total of 62,645 or a 4.% growth rate.

Chippewa County jumped by 9.3% for a 2005 population total of 60,367, while the city of Chippewa Falls grew by about 4.4% over the past five years for a 2005 estimated population of 13,493.
