MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Two law firms say they're suing cable television giant Charter Communications for failing to pay certain employees for certain tasks.
Lawyers for the Madison-based firms say they've been given the go-ahead to expand their lawsuit on behalf of one client into a federal class action lawsuit.
Now the firms are seeking other people to join in the case filed in August on behalf of a Janesville technician.
The firms say their suit seeks unpaid wages and overtime compensation for about 8,000 current and former employees.
A spokeswoman for St. Louis-based Charter says she's looking at the case and will comment later.
