SE Minnesota County Bans Driving on Ice

Law enforcement officers along the Mississippi River are banning driving on the ice after a third vehicle fell through the ice.

The Goodhue County Sheriff's Department posted signs at all public access points near Red Wiing and you could be fined up to $700 if you're caught. The Army Corps of Engineers tests the ice thickness but deputies say three vehicles have fallen through the ice in the last 16 days.

You are still allowed to walk on the ice, but deputies say you have to be careful because ice conditions are changing rapidly.
