Rural Eau Claire County Girl And Boy Struck By Car

A six-year-old girl is hospitalized in Rochester, Minnesota after having been struck by a vehicle in the Town of Seymour near the intersection of Eau Claire County Highway Q and Tower Drive.

The incident happend Sunday afternoon, and the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department said the girl along with a 5 year-old-boy were hit by a car traveling north on County Q. The boy was thrown into a nearby ditch, and his injuries police say are not life threatening.

Witnesses, however, said the girl was experiencing head and spinal injuries when she was airlifted to Rochester.

The matter remains under investigation by the Sheriff's department.
