Deardorff Charged, Freed on Signature Bond
A 78-year-old Altoona man is free on a signature bond after being charged with 4 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 years of age.
The circuit court criminal complaint states that Ronald L. Deardorff assualted four girls, ranging in age from 7 to 12, on august the 5th.
The complaint said that Deardorff was playing adult movies for the children and had three of the girls fondle him when the mother of two of the girls arrived at Deardorff's home.
"The law provides that if you allow a juvenile or encourage knowingly having a juvenile engage in sexual contact with you," said District Attorney Rich White, "You're violating the law just as much as you would be in doing something more affirmative."
Deardorff has been ordered to have no contact with the children or parents involved as well as no unsupervised contact with any juvenile under the age of 16.
His next court date is September 15th.
